What is?

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) is a group of practical methods developed by Lego Group A/S between 1999 and 2002, and subsequently publicshed under creative commons. You can read more about the history of LSP if interested.

The suite of methods and materials provide are designed to solve problems, enhance innovation, improve business decisions, enable step changes in personal or team performance… anything for which the right questions can be asked. That said, it is not a panacea – there are conditions under which it works powerfully, and conditions under which it is ineffective.

“Hands-on, minds-on” learning leads to a more meaningful understanding of the world and its possibilities. The LSP methods require reflection, and support effective dialogue for all participants: everyone is engaged all of the time, and everyone’s voice is heard.

SeriousPlay(R) is necessarily faciltator led. There are different approaches and styles of facilitation, but anyone claiming to facilitate Lego(R) SeriousPlay(R) has agreed to the conditions associated with the trademarks, and associated rules, as provided by Lego. Facilitators must be thoroughly familiar with LSP methods and materials, and have undergone training in facilitating LSP workshops.

Since 2017 System//level has offered bespoke workshops, training sessions, team events and similar using Lego SeriousPlay(R), led by a Certified Facilitator trained by the Association of Master Trainers.
